How GLP-1 medicines work

After 40, the rules around hunger change.

Hunger signals, hormones and metabolism all shift over time, and together they can make eating less hard to keep up. GLP-1 treatment works on the signals that control appetite. It can help you feel less hungry and full sooner, supporting weight loss alongside healthy eating and regular movement.

  • Food noise gets louder

Cravings and constant thoughts about food can keep running in the background, even after you’ve eaten.

  • Hormones shift in midlife

Perimenopause and menopause can change how hungry you feel and where your body stores weight.

  • Your body pushes back

After weight loss, hunger tends to rise and metabolism slows, which is why each restart can feel harder.
