How Much Does Semaglutide Cost?
See what actually changes the price of semaglutide, including brand versus compounded products, insurance, and Ēlovi's published plan.

The short answer
There is no single price for semaglutide: an FDA-approved brand and a compounded preparation are priced separately, insurance coverage for weight-management medication varies by plan, and manufacturer savings offers have their own eligibility rules. Compare the same three-month total for each specific product and check current terms directly rather than relying on one advertised number.
Prices on this page were last checked September 20, 2026. Confirm current terms with the provider before enrolling.
Semaglutide does not have one price
The ingredient name tells you what a medicine is made of. It does not tell you which product you are being quoted, whether that product has FDA approval, or whether your insurance applies. Before comparing any two numbers, find out which of these you are actually looking at:
- An FDA-approved brand. Wegovy is the semaglutide product approved for chronic weight management. Its price depends on your insurance status and whether you qualify for a manufacturer savings offer.
- A compounded preparation. Some online programs, including Ēlovi, offer compounded semaglutide. It is not FDA-approved, and evidence for the branded product does not transfer to a compounded version. 3
These are not the same purchase, and a lower number does not tell you which one you are getting. Our compounded versus brand-name guide explains what changes when a product is compounded rather than approved.
What changes the price of the FDA-approved brand
Insurance is the first variable. Some, but not all, insurance plans cover medication for weight management, and a valid prescription does not by itself establish that your plan covers it. 1
Novo Nordisk's current Wegovy savings program sets separate terms depending on whether you have commercial insurance or are uninsured and paying yourself. For the uninsured, self-pay route, the program states plainly that it sits outside any third-party insurance billing — money spent through it does not count toward a deductible or out-of-pocket requirement and cannot be submitted for reimbursement to an insurer. The commercial-insurance co-pay tier has its own separate terms; do not assume the self-pay deductible language applies to it. The company can change or end the program at any time. 2
Rather than repeating a number here that could be out of date by the time you read it, treat the current NovoCare savings page as the source to check yourself, and confirm which situation applies to you: commercial insurance, uninsured self-pay, or a government health plan. If you are weighing self-pay routes more broadly, our guide to GLP-1 treatment without insurance walks through the options side by side.
What Ēlovi's compounded semaglutide plan currently costs
As of September 23, 2026, Ēlovi's pricing page lists compounded semaglutide at $199 each calendar month. This is the ongoing monthly price, not an introductory offer. There is no three-month prepaid plan. Other providers’ figures in this article retain their original source-check dates. The published plan includes medication, clinician care, injection supplies, and delivery, with no separate membership fee; outside laboratory testing and care from another provider are not included.
These are Ēlovi's own published terms, not a market-wide price for semaglutide, and they can change — check the current pricing page before budgeting. Because this is a compounded preparation, it is not an approved substitute for Wegovy on safety, effectiveness, or quality, whatever the price difference. 3
Compare the same three-month total, not the headline number
A monthly figure can hide how often you actually pay, and what it includes. Before comparing two quotes for semaglutide, get answers to:
| Question | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Is this the FDA-approved brand or a compounded preparation? | These are different products with different regulatory status, not two prices for the same thing. |
| Does the price include the clinician visit, or only the medication? | A medication-only quote and a medication-plus-care quote answer different questions. |
| Is billing monthly, every three months, or tied to a 28-day supply? | Similar labels can cover different periods and change the real monthly cost. |
| What happens to the price if a discount or introductory offer ends? | An introductory rate is not the same as the ongoing price you would pay later. |
| What is the cancellation and refund policy? | A prepaid balance is not always refundable if you stop. |
Our GLP-1 cost guide has a longer worksheet if you are comparing more than one medication or more than two offers at once.
A lower price is not a reason to skip the assessment
Cost is a real constraint, and it is fair to raise it directly with a clinician. It is not, on its own, a reason to choose a compounded preparation over an approved one, or to assume a product is right for you. 3
If affordability is the main barrier, say so during your visit and ask what options exist, including whether a different treatment approach might fit your budget and your health better.
Common questions
Is Ozempic priced the same as Wegovy?
They are not interchangeable for this purpose. Ozempic is approved for type 2 diabetes, and this article is about the semaglutide product approved for weight management. Ask your clinician and pharmacy about the specific product and approved use behind any price you are quoted.
Does a lower price always mean a compounded product?
Not necessarily, but you should never assume otherwise. Ask directly whether a quote is for the FDA-approved brand or a compounded preparation before comparing it to anything else.
Can I combine a manufacturer savings offer with my insurance?
Only according to that program's own terms, and they can differ by situation. Confirm the current rules on the manufacturer's page rather than assuming one offer stacks with another. 2
